I’ve been looking for a sturdy hoe for a few seasons, but I couldn’t justify paying the high prices for the ones with the forged heads. This one met my price point for being a good value. Ergonomic is simple, head and handle were solid with no noticeable defects. The weight was not light; it was right. The long handle allow flexibility in finding a comfortable length of swing.After spending 10 minutes filing a sharp edge, it was an easy job to break ground for a small gardening plot.

I have an old eye hoe with a handle that is almost rotted out. Instead of getting a new handle, I bought a Truper. It took a while to sharpen it, but, afterward I was pleased in the performance. It cuts through weeds in a flash. When it dulls, it's easy to put an edge back on with a file. Then off we go again. I almost don't want to stop and head to the house.

It was a heavy but good hoe while it was working. It made gardening very easy and made a great work at breaking roots. Unfortunately, the metal part of hoe snapped in half after one year of use.

This is heavy duty forged steel with a solid hickory shaft. A tool that has enough heft to cut through tough roots and such, definitely a great tool for clearing ground. I can’t find these in any hardware store in my town, and the value is definitely there.

Wh hoe is so sharp and works very well. I've been using it on a daily basis to create vegetable gardens in my bak yard. Some reviewers said it'a bit heavy, but I who is an old woman has no problem to handle the weight. 54" length did not fit in my trunk well, so I cut 6". Now it's perfect.

Under normal circumstances, I would have given a 3 starts. Since, you cant find them locally, i am giving 4 starts. Overall, it is decently made and does the job.However, the metal does not seem to be treated and I think it will rust easily.

I learned as a child to ditch with a hoe in California soil. Red clay is a different work and I went through a couple of standard hoes pretty quickly. I've gone down 18 inches with a pick and this hoe into clay, rock, and roots for a length 36 feet. A nice clean ditch the width of the hoe and perfect for installing 5 inch drain pipe. Very little visible wear on the hoe. This is a serious tool built for real work. I gave it a 5 for "light weight" even though it is not light. It's exactly as heavy as it needs to bre to do the work. But if you want a light weight garden tool, this is not for you.
