Broke after four uses

The blade broke in half as another review mentionI only used 4 times and it was the end of this toolThe steel looks that it was cooled to fast during manufacturing and it was brittle

Spectacular sturdy hoe

Only reason this didn’t rate 5 stars across the board is because the hoe came missing a necessary screw to hold the implement head in place. I’m a 60+ year old female who seriously gardens and this garden tool makes things much simpler and better. It’s construction design enables me to weed or till soil without undue strain where the implement it’s replaced caused much back ache, etc. This hoe will be around as a working friend for a long time, now looking to replace other garden tools because quality does make a difference

trooper. purpose built TOOL. meant to be used.

i put full swing into ancient clay deposit under topsoil. hardpan for you laymen out there.i bought the round eye hoe. i wouldn't bother with the others after having used this one. EASILY replaceable handle, UNLIKE EVERY OTHER HOE DESIGN.not sure why this design is not used as often as it used to be. the head is essentially good forever. not china pot metal.goats&hoes

Highly recommend. Relatively heavy, but works great.

Great hoe. Quite a bit heavier than your average garden hoe, but that's one of the featured that make it as good as it is. Has a cast, one piece head which gives a lot of power when trying to grub out roots. I was using the corner of the blade and easily driving it 5-6 inches into the soil. Pull it back and the weed and roots come right out. As hard as I was using it I'd have bent or broken a light duty hoe.Highly recommend

Dull hoe

Generally the hoe is good. Long handle and study head, but there was not cutting edge ground on the hoe. Fortunately I knew what to do to remedy, but for the price I would have expected that they would at least have ground an edge the hoe. Not very useful without the cutting edge.

Don't waste your time or back on a lightweight hardware store hoe

I bought this grub hoe because I figured that old-timers knew what they were doing. Yep.... So much easier to use a grub hoe than a modern hoe. Works great on either unbroken or previously tilled ground. Far far less effort to tend a garden with a heavier hoe with a longer handle. I should have purchased one 20 yrs ago.

It broke!

This hoe broke on the third swing as I was digging a hole. The blade broke across in half. It has been three weeks since I’ve sent it back, but I’m still waiting for my refund from the seller.

Best tool in the garden

Stout, sturdy, and the first tool I grab on my way to the garden. Dig, weed, till, make trenches, mounds, or holes for plants. This is a very versatile tool, however... I am 6 foot 2 inches and can wield it easily, while my wife is average height and prefers lighter tools. By the way, I did manage to break the head on my first one... foolishly tried to use it to pry on a thick root... full grown man on a 5 foot lever (handle) snapped the metal. No question, I intend to purchase more in the future.... suggestion though - a little sandpaper makes the handle much nicer.

Unsatisfied

Beware! Bad service! The hoe would be great if it didn't arrive damaged. Light head and long handle for medium duty work. Shipping box had no damage which indicates seller is sending damaged products. Handle had 1/4 inch deep cut and scraped. In these type of tools that creates weak points. Tried to make a replacement but it appears I can’t!! I guess i’ll have to work with it till it breaks and change the handle . 4 star for tool and 1 star for service
